About Us

Sierra Club Peel is a group of concerned citizens who carry out environmental campaigns and conservation projects in the Region of Peel. Our mission is to educate, enlighten, and empower the residents of Peel to be defenders and responsible stewards of our natural environment.

Our group was established in March of 2005. Although we are a new group, we have hit the ground running with several important campaigns, and have achieved good results already.

Goals

Many of our campaigns support three central goals in Peel:

• Put an end to urban sprawl by halting the residential development of high-quality farmland
• Take cars and trucks off the road by providing people with innovative rapid transit systems and by making Peel more bikeable and walkable
• Protect and enhance green space such as the Credit Valley Watershed and Woodlands
