About Us
Sierra Club Peel is a group of involved citizens who carry out environmental campaigns and conservation projects in the Region of Peel. Our mission is to educate, enlighten, and empower the residents of Peel to be defenders and responsible stewards of our natural environment.
Our group was established in March of 2005. Our achievements to date have been many and significant. (Please see the Chair's Annual Report for details for each year.) We owe our success to our talented and committed executive and to our many supportive members.
Vision
A complete community in harmony with the natural environment to create the optimal quality of life for all inhabitants.
Goals
Many of our campaigns focus on addressing climate change by:
- Promoting walkable, bikeable, and transit-oriented communities through the use of intelligent urban design.
- Protecting natural heritage systems and valuable farmland.
- Promoting our vision by working effectively with decision-makers, agencies, business and the public.
